FAQS

Online escrow is a five-step process. It protects the Seller by verifying funds and protects the Buyer by allowing inspection of the merchandise before funds are disbursed.

New England Auto Shipping takes several steps to protect both the Buyer and Seller against fraud: - We verify the identity of all sellers involved in the transaction. - We verify the ownership of the items sold using our escrow service. - All payments by the Buyer are verified as "good funds" before the shipping starts. - All shipments are made by New England Auto Shipping to ensure the Seller shipped and the Buyer received the item. - If the item has any previously undisclosed faults, the Buyer has the opportunity to “Reject” and return the item during the Inspection Period, while the funds are still in escrow.

The services offered through New England Auto Shipping support most online transactions. It’s ideal for exchanging higher-end items (above $500 in value) that merit the security and peace of mind that New England Auto Shipping delivers. The Inspection Period is the specified amount of time agreed upon by both parties in which the Buyer may examine the merchandise after receipt. The time frame selected for the Buyer can range between 1 to 30 days and must be agreed upon by all parties at the beginning of the transaction. The Inspection Period begins when the Buyer receives the item. The Buyer must accept or reject the goods within this period. Buyers and Sellers should make sure the inspection period provides adequate time for any authentication and/or appraisal process that may be necessary to complete the transaction.

By using the Lien Payoff Service, the Buyer and Seller guarantee that the current lien holder will be paid off at the close of the transaction. After the transaction is started and the Lien Payoff Service requested, New England Auto Shipping will contact the Seller to retrieve lien holder contact and account information by requesting Title Release Instructions. New England Auto Shipping contacts the current lien holder to confirm the payoff amount and payoff instructions. At the close of the transaction, New England Auto Shipping sends the payoff check to the lien holder via next business day. New England Auto Shipping also includes the Title Release Instructions which requests the title be sent to the new Buyer. Any balance would be sent to the Seller. Please note that not all lien holders allow the title to be sent directly to the new Buyer, some require the title to be sent to the Seller. Lien holders may hold the title until payment clears.

As specified in the escrow terms, if the Buyer rejects the merchandise, the Seller is required to pay for return shipping fees.
